This connectivity can provide for faster load ins, simpler cabling and faster programming, all you need is to understand a bit of basic networking. We've created a three part series to introduce the essentials of networking with a focus on the elements relevant to stage lighting networks. In this first part of the series we cover the fundamentals of networking in general, covering the layers of a network, basic architecture and the components of a network. In parts two and three we'll cover how to specify and setup a stage lighting network as well as how to troubleshoot common networking issues.
