About the Laser Operator Course: This fully online educational course guides you through the basics of safe, high-powered laser projector operation. It covers the physical components of the projector as well as setup so that your show will be safe, legal and will look professional.

When you have completed this course you will be able to safely set up a laser show utilizing proper zoning and hazard avoidance practices that comply with U.S. laser light show regulations. While some fundamentals of laser safety apply regardless of where you are, this course was designed with U.S. users in mind.

You do not need to complete this course to be eligible for a U.S. FDA laser light show variance, but we recommend this course for anyone new to lasers. 

*This is not a Laser Safety Officer (LSO) course.

Quick answers to a few FAQs about this course:

1. How long does it take?

About 60 minutes, including the final exam.

2. What do I need to score to pass the final exam?

A grade of 80% is passing. That means answering 32 of 40 questions correctly.

3. What if I don't get 80% on the final exam?

If you don't pass the final exam the first time, you'll have three (3) chances to retry it. Most people easily pass the final exam on their first try. You must pass the final exam to receive your completion certificate.

4. How do I enroll myself in the course?

Soon after checkout, you'll receive a separate email with a special link that will take you to the educational platform, which is called Rise.

5. How can I prove that I've taken the Laser Operator Course?

X-Laser keeps records of everyone who takes the exam, and you will also receive a personalized completion certificate with a unique identifying code.
