Based in Minneapolis, Minn., Bormann Marketing has experienced growth and success in the audiovisual industry since the 1970s. Yet, the sales representative firm had not taken on a laser brand despite the rapid improvements in laser technology, affordability and usability. This would change at LDI 2023 in Las Vegas.
“We went to LDI last fall to connect with a laser brand because we wanted a laser company in our portfolio as we solidify ourselves as a full-line firm,” explained Brad Horbal, principal at Bormann. “We saw a handful of laser companies at LDI but gravitated toward X-Laser because they’re American made, and they were the only laser company at LDI that we connected with and made us feel truly comfortable with the idea of a partnership.”
About a week after LDI, X-Laser and Bormann connected again at an open house hosted by Legacy Production Group in Minneapolis. Away from the glitz and glamor of Las Vegas and in a more comfortable setting, the Bormann team received a detailed demo of X-Laser hardware and its Mercury laser control system at work. A short while later, the companies sealed the deal on the partnership, which went into effect on March 1, 2024.
“We’re really excited to have Bormann on board,” said Ben Spellman, X-Laser’s national sales manager. “It seemed like a perfect fit as they expand their business into the lighting industry and as we continue to grow as a lighting manufacturer as well. Plus, they’re a great group of professionals and Bormann’s nearly 50 years of experience speaks for itself.”
Bormann Marketing represents X-Laser in the following states: Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.
“Our goal is to provide any piece of equipment that a production company or professional integrator would need; lighting, cables, rigging solutions, you name it,” Horbal added. “Now, we can offer X-Laser systems as part of that mix and we’re excited about that.”
