We get asked all the time from people who are getting into custom laser shows and programming, “How can I run Pangolin software on my Mac if the programs are meant for PC?”

Here’s our third post in our series of educational content. For the first two posts, check out our Facebook page (click here). With laser projectors, there are two main methods of scanning a laser beam: stepper motors and galvanometer scanners. Here, we’re going to get into the basics of these systems and how they stand apart from one another.

New this week to our Web site is a revamped “Find a Dealer” tool including an interactive map to help you find your nearest authorized X-Laser retailer. The map offers full contact information for hundreds of X-Laser dealers across the USA, as well as a filtering function to see which dealers offer our products in their online stores.

During the weekend of Jan. 22, 2016, the Washington, D.C., metro area (and X-Laser HQ) experienced a historic snowstorm, with some areas receiving as many as 36 inches of snow in just over 24 hours. We saw this as an opportunity to put our Skywriter HPX to the test in a rather extreme scenario. Check out the full story!

The crowd gathered in the streets to watch the glistening ball drop to welcome the new year. This was not Times Square, though — this was Baltimore. In the heart of the city between the Baltimore Ravens’ M&T Bank Stadium and Horseshoe Casino, X-Laser projectors generated vivid laser effects to help create the atmosphere for Baltimore’s first New Year’s Eve ball drop (click here for the video!).

Dash Berlin, one of EDM’s top DJs, put on a killer set at Echostage in Washington D.C., one of the east coast’s premier venues for electronic music. Flanking him were five of X-Laser’s custom-made 6W Defiant projectors that completely filled the huge, warehouse-sized concert hall with incredibly bright and colorful laser effects.
